Introducing Plandline Project
Personal Project Self-led Group Project
Back to my high school in 2021, I started Ken’s Study Planner project. I have been working on it personally for over 4 years.
Ken's Study Planner (Plandline in the future) is an All-in-one Deadline and Event Days Left Manager.
It has a number of unique features including Internal Deadlines, Days Left Display in Different Colours, Project Progress Checking, etc.
Ken's Study Planner 4 Interface
Starting from 2025, it will soon change to a self-led group project.
I tried to recruit other members, but the name “Ken’s Study Planner” is too personal for teamwork and project development.
To overcome this problem, I generated a new name without my name (Ken), Plandline, as a sub-brand of Ken’s Study Journey.
According to our Plan, Ken’s Study Planner may be renamed to Plandline with more functions and improved design at the start of 2026.

- Calendar (TimeTable) Matching (finding common free time)
- Skippable/Unskippable Lessons (for University Students)
- Automatic iCalendar (.ics) Subscription/Import
- Synchronise Planner Events with your Third-party (Google, iCloud, Outlook, etc.) Calendar
- Friends & Groups
- Smart Timer
- Daily Efficiency Summary & Graph
- Colour Theme Choices
- (etc.) but Suggestions are Welcome!
Are you Thinking about This?
You probably received a lot of invitation and promotion posters or emails about wonderful opportunities like Web Development with a big “Apply Now” button.
However, many students end up with this email – a rejection letter:
Subject: Application Update - Plandline
Dear Applicant,
Thank you for your application to Plandline as a Web Developer.
After a careful consideration of your application, we regret to inform you that your application is not successful due to the overwhelming number of applications, making the selection process highly competitive.
... ...
Regards,
Plandline Project
Ken's Study Journey
NO! Plandline is not like that.

What is “Collaboration for Beginners” Scheme?
The “Collaboration for Beginners” Scheme (“零基础合作”计划) was proposed by Ken’s Study Journey in mid-2023.
It welcomes and gives an opportunity to students regardless of their past experiences.
That means, you can still join even if you don’t know anything about programming, software development, UI/UX design, etc.

You may wonder:
How can the applicants work on tasks even though they don’t know anything?
Learning Basics
Well, they will learn the very basic skills from the beginning, like basic Git and HTML web development, for around 6 months.
We will offer tutorials and tasks relevant to our Plandline Project. Participants will not feel bored or overwhelmed by tasks with other random topics.
Based on my personality, I explain everything in detail but simple ways (e.g., with arrows and keyboards) for easy understanding.
Here are the 2 example pages of our tutorial PDF file.
Tutorial Example - Browser Developer Tool (F12)
Tutorial Example - HTML Heading Tags
Our Special Selection Criteria
Unlike most organisations and societies, we don’t select applicants based on:
- CV and Past Experiences
- Admission/Technical Test
- Interview
This is because the tests and interviews require short-time thinking. The applicants can be selected incorrectly if they feel tired or sick on the day of the assessment.
It’s true in some groups I joined that we ended up with many lazy members despite passing background checks, admission tests, interviews, etc.
Instead, we select applicants based on their long-term project making and time-management skills (around 6 months). We only reject and filter out lazy applicants.
It’s nearly guaranteed admission at the beginner stage while late applicants will be in the waitlist if the number of applications is beyond our capacity. Rather than rejection, we implement the “waitlist” mechanism.
As we kick out lazy members/beginners, we will immediately invite the waitlisted applicants.
Special Selection Criteria on Plandline Project
Why “Collaboration for Beginners” Scheme?
Simply Speaking, I have a lot of skills, but I couldn’t hire anyone else.
I couldn’t hire anyone else in the last few years as none of them are interested in web development and project-making.
I handled everything on the Ken’s Study Journey/Planner projects with a lot of skills, including:
- Web Front-end Development
- Server Backend Development
- UI/UX, Poster, Image and Logo Design
- Web Security
- Efficient Algorithms and New Technology Applications behind Web Servers
Server Algorithm Example - Hash Algorithm
To overcome this problem, I proposed the “Collaboration for Beginners” Scheme to teach applicants with my knowledge and skills.
It will be a win-win benefiting not only the beginners joined but, more importantly, myself.
Benefits for Beginners Joined
- Programming and Software Development (Web Front-end and Backend) Skills & Experiences
- Collaboration, Communication and Teamwork Skills
- Responsibility for Project and Task Completion
- More Opportunity to Try Out rather than Getting Rejections
Benefits for Myself
- Leadership Skills (i.e., Leading a Project)
- Teaching and Content Sharing Skills (i.e., Teaching Others)
- A Platform for Showcasing myself (e.g., Personality, Unique Idea and Design)
Positions & Syllabus
Positions
At Plandline, we use multi-position mechanism. That means, a member can engage in more than one position.
However, you can choose not to engage in specific position(s) (e.g., UI/UX Design) if not interested or find it difficult.
We have the following positions and need some members (with our "Collaboration for Beginners" Scheme):
- Web Front-end Developer
- Server Backend Developer
- App Developer (since 2026/2027, coming soon ...)
- Designer (UI/UX, Poster, Image, Logo, etc.)
- Technical Researcher
This is entirely voluntary with free admission without any income.
"Collaboration for Beginners" Syllabus
Our "Collaboration for Beginners" Scheme mainly covers front-end and backend (i.e., client and server sides) development.
Being a new project, this syllabus is still to be completed and hence (so) the number of levels is not yet confirmed.
Beginners works on the tasks in different levels with a range of topics sequentially.
The main topics include:
- Git & GitHub Basics (GitHub)
- Web Front-end (GitHub)
- Server Backend (GitHub + Server)
- Server Maintenance (Server)
- Mock Server Incident Handling (Server)
- Bug Fixing (GitHub + Server)
My Unique Personality
Unlike over 99% of other people, I have very unique personality with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).
I always cry😢 if someone tries to break my unique ideas and opinions.
- Games🎮 and Entertainment (including ice-breaking and team building games) are the WASTE of my Time⏲️!
- I like being rigorous🧪 and explaining everything into detail like researchers🔬
- I can focus on one thing (like a project) for a long time
- Researching🌡️ my own topics can bring me achievement and happiness❤️
- Regardless of whether acceptable✅ or not❌ (usually by teachers, judges, etc.), I always want to apply my idea in real life
- Regardless of my location (including trains🚄, planes✈️ or other transportation🚙) and public holidays, I always think about🤔 and focus on my work
- I would like to Research More about the Working Principles🛠️ like Researchers with More Advanced Settings/Options⚙️
Therefore:
- I refuse to use something like Vue, React, React Native, Caddy HTTP Server, etc. on my personal and self-led projects
- There will be NO compulsory extra activities (e.g., ice-breaking and team building games) - we fully (100%) focus on the project itself
Thanks everyone for understanding of my unique personality and wish us a successful development of the Plandline Project.
