Simply Speaking
The website URL (link) structures will be changed, on 17 August 2023 06:45 (GMT+8), with both language prefixes.
- /zh-cn for Chinese-Simplified (简体中文)
- /en for English (to be added later)
This will provide convenience to Chinese (language) users.
Dear students, teachers, and visitors,
Thanks for choosing and using Ken’s Study Journey services!
Due to many Chinese users, Ken’s Study Journey will optimise the language settings on the services to provide convenience for Chinese language users.
According to the Brand History, Ken’s Study Journey website (previously my personal website) is mainly English targeted at English native speakers and used for boosting English skills, with an English-only version in early-2019.
Discovering earlier development of the Study Tips topic outside China (from 2016 to 2017, using YouTube, Notion and Forest apps), Ken’s Study Journey has been experiencing the Incorrect Target Audiences Problem (corrected here and previously called “Visitors Count Disproportionality Problem”), where the number of Chinese users is far larger than the sum of others.
However, this did not occur in early-2019 when the topics were uncertain (e.g. teaching foreigners using Chinese apps) while it occured after the topics (study tips) were determined.
This upgrade includes:
-
Adding URL prefixes for each language.
- /zh-cn for Chinese-Simplified (简体中文)
- /en for English (to be added later)
-
Adding a language URL router for not adding the prefixes
- For example, https://www.kenstudyjourney.cn will be redirected to https://www.kenstudyjourney.cn/zh-cn
-
Routing users:
- to Chinese-Simplified (/zh-cn) for Chinese language browsers
- to English (/en) for all other browsers
Simply speaking, only the English page URLs will be changed.
This will not affect the services and the search engine index. Both languages will remain available.
The routing will be changed on 17 August 2023 06:45 (GMT+8), after which the internal links on each page will also be changed in sequential order.
Thanks for your understanding. You can contact me for any questions or suggestions.

Did you Know?
In 2023, I finally realised that making YouTube videos/vlogs (that is, the earlier development of the Study Tips topic) by foreign students is to earn money (monetise) and may be used for the expensive university/school tuition fees (especially for poor families).
Since my services are all non-profit (similar to Volunteering) while others are commercial, I was keeping thinking about whether to discontinue the services.
Note: Due to the large amount of Ken’s Study Planner users (NOT inactive accounts), the website and Planner services cannot be discontinued.
